ADVANTAGES OF KNOWING YOUR PURPOSE
Ralph Waldo Emerson said; "One single idea may have greater weight tha the labor of all men, and engines for a century." Put ideas and your purpose to work.
It begins with a fundamental question. What is my purpose and how will I find self-discovery? Defining your purpose is the result of setting long-term goals and taking immediate action toward them.
If you study the life of every person you can think of who has achieved some level of success, you will find that each one has a definite major purpose.
There are benefits of knowing one's purpose and functioning in it. Benefits like self-reliance, personal initiative, imagination, enthusiam, self-discipline and focus effort. All these will benefit you in reaching your potential.
What are the advantages of defining your purpose:
- Defining your purpose develops self-awareness, personal initiative, enthusiasm, self-motivation, and self-discipline. All of these are the results of defining your purpose and reaching your full potential.
- Defining your purpose makes you aware of opportunities related to your purpose, and it inspires enthusiasm to act on them. Decision-making will play a critical role, assisting you towards acting on opportunities.
- Defining your purpose develops confidence in your own integrity and credibility, which attracts favorable attention from others and inspires their cooperation. The more credible you are the more confidence people place in you, the less credible you are, the less confidence people place in you and the more quickly you lose your position of influence.
- Once you discover your purpose, you should begin to manage your time more effectively, and your finances. Begin to prioritize your daily objectives. It will lead to the prioritization of your purpose. Time management always pays dividends because each moment is made to achieve progress toward your long-term goals. Your finances play a major role in budgeting, ensuring that you are living well below your means.
- Remember that I said earlier, that ninety-eight percent of people in society never make up their minds about pursuing their purpose in life. They simply can’t make a decision and stick with that decision. How can you overcome the habit of avoiding making a decision? Start with the next problem you face and make a decision. Any decision is better than not making one.
