The Compound Effect Of Reading.
Three books that have made an impact on my life!
I want to share with you three books that have helped shape my personality, my mindset, and my character. These books have made a profound impact in how I think, make decisions and achieve personal growth.
1) Thinking For A Change: by John Maxwell This book has taught me the value of changing my thinking to change my life. You must take time and reflect on your thoughts. So I schedule one hour a day just for thinking.
You must learn the habit of nurturing great thoughts, otherwise, you will never go higher than your thoughts. To go to the next level, your thinking has to lead the way. If you are willing to change your thinking, you can change your actions. And changing your actions--based on good thinking can change your life. "John Maxwell."
2) The 15 Invaluable Laws Of Growth: by John Maxwell This book has taught me the value of how to achieve "personal growth." Growth doesn't just happen. It has to be intentional. You must have a plan for personal growth. Reaching your potential is something that requires continuous work throughout one's lifetime.
This book also taught me the importance of being in a growth environment. You must know whether you're in a conducive growth environment. This book also taught me how to discern whether you're looking forward to the future or looking back at what you've left behind.
You must be in the kind of environment that is going to promote your growth. Furthermore, you have to ask yourself tough questions like: are others ahead of me? Am I continually being challenged? Is my focus toward forward thinking? Am I often pushed out of my comfort zone?
3) Live Your Dreams: by Les Brown This book has taught me the value of how to set goals, how to go after and achieve your dreams, and how to develop a hunger for life. To develop hunger, you must take responsibility for your life. Know that it's up to you to accomplish your dreams.
You do this by setting small goals and accomplishing them. You must take the initiative by reviewing your goals twice every day. You must stay focused on achieving your objectives. And you must take time to reflect on what truly motivates you.
- Devote yourself to operating on a massive, relentless scale in order to accomplish your goals.
- Develop the conviction that you shall accomplish your goals. And failure is not an option. Your level of belief in yourself will manifest in what you do.
- Read inspirational material such as biographies of people who had to overcome great odds to succeed.
So, there you have it. These three books have not only changed my life, but have made a profound impact in shaping my personality, my character, and my belief system. Feel free to comment on this newsletter: The Creator's Unique Perspective.org or personalgrowthcoaching.org.ghost.io
